Acupuncture is a form of medical treatment that helps to regulate the body’s function, treat and prevent disease and help ease suffering and pain. This is done by inserting fine, sterile needles into the skin at very specific locations called acupuncture points. The needles are retained for twenty to thirty minutes or longer depending on the person and the disease that is treated.

Acupuncture is well tolerated with generally little to no side effects. Rarely there may be bruising , slight dizziness or an increase in symptoms for one or two days after the initial treatment. Acupuncture is appropriate for virtually everyone including young children and the very old.
